Dumfries and Galloway coronavirus update for Monday, April 19

There have now been ten coronavirus cases in Dumfries and Galloway in April.

A further two people across the region have tested positive since Friday, taking the overall total to 4,147.

There was one new case on Saturday, none yesterday and one today.

There are currently less than five people being treated in hospital.

Across Scotland, there were 232 new cases today, taking the overall total to 223,914. There are 104 people in hospital and 14 in intensive care.

The latest Public Health Scotland figures show- the seven day positivity rate for Dumfries and Galloway is 2.7 per 100,000 people, with a positivity rate of 0.2 per cent. The Scottish figures are 28.9 and 1.5 per cent respectively.

They also reveal that 89,248 people in Dumfries and Galloway have received their first coronavirus vaccination - 71 per cent of the adult population.

And 47,649 people - 37.9 per cent - have received their second dose.
