Dumfries and Galloway coronavirus update for Monday, April 12

A further three people in Dumfries and Galloway tested positive for coronavirus over the past three days.

It takes the total since the pandemic began to 4,142.

Two cases were confirmed on Friday - the first recorded in the region in April.

There has been a further case each day since then.

There are currently less than five people being treated in hospital.

The latest Public Health Scotland figures show the seven day positive rate at two per 100,000 people, with the seven test positivity at 0.2 per cent. The Scottish figures are 36.6 and 1.8 per cent respectively.

The data also shows 88,508 people in the region have received their first dose of the vaccine - 70.5 per cent of the population.

And 38,798 people have received their second dose, which is 30.9 per cent.

In Scotland today there were 199 new cases with 154 people currently in hospital.
