Dumfries and Galloway coronavirus figures for Wednesday, September 30

Dumfries and Galloway has seen its biggest daily increase in coronavirus cases for more than three months.

A further 12 cases have been confirmed today, taking the tally for the region since the start of the pandemic to 411.

It's the biggest daily jump since June 15 and means there have been 51 cases in the past week, with 98 since the start of September.

Today has also seen a  further 640 cases in Scotland, taking the figure since the start of the pandemic to 29,244.

There are currently 137 people in hospital with 15 in intensive care.

Seven people who tested positive have died in the past 24 hours - the highest single day rise since June.

It takes the national total to 2,519.
