Dumfries and Galloway coronavirus figures for Wednesday, October 28

More than half of the region’s confirmed coronavirus cases since the start of the pandemic have been in October.

Yesterday, a further 13 cases were revealed, taking the region’s total since March to 831.

Of that figure, 420 have been in October alone with 117 in the past seven days.

Today’s update also showed there are currently 10 people being treated in the region’s hospitals, down from 12 on Tuesday.

In Scotland, there were a further 1,202 cases yesterday, taking the total since the pandemic began to 60,403.

There are 1,117 people in hospital with 85 in intensive care.

A further 28 people have died, taking the total since the pandemic began to 2,754.
