Dumfries and Galloway coronavirus figures for Thursday, October 22

A further 19 people in Dumfries and Galloway have tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24.

It takes the number of cases in the region since the start of the pandemic to 733.

There have been 109 cases in the past week with 317 in October.

The daily update also revealed nine people who have been diagnosed with coronavirus are currently in the region’s hospitals.

Across Scotland, there were a further 1,712 new cases today, with the national total now at 52,615.

928 people are in hospital with 74 people in intensive care.

A further 17 people have died, taking the national total to 2,670.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon is due to unveil plans of a new tiered system of restrictions tomorrow.
