Dumfries and Galloway coronavirus figures for September 22 as country waits for new restrictions

An additional two in Dumfries and Galloway have tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

It takes the total number of positives in the region since the start of the pandemic to 356.

There have been 43 positive tests since the start of the month with 23 in the last seven days.

A further 383 cases have been confirmed in Scotland, taking the national total to 25,009.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon is due to announce new restrictions, which aim to curb the spread of the virus, in the next few hours.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has already announced changes in England, including the closure of pubs and clubs at 10pm.
