Dumfries and Galloway coronavirus figures for Monday, October 26

A further 43 of people have tested positive for coronavirus over the weekend.

There were 15 new cases on Saturday, nine on Sunday and 19 on Monday.

It takes the Dumfries and Galloway total since the start of the pandemic to 793.

There have been 111 new cases in the past week, with 382 since October.

There are currently 16 people who have tested positive in the region’s hospitals.

In Scotland, a further 1,122 new cases were reported today, taking the national total to 57,874.

There are 1,052 people in hospital with 90 in intensive care.

A further one person has died died, taking the total since the start of the pandemic in March to 2,701.

Proposals for a new tiered system of restrictions are due to be discussed at the Scottish Parliament on Tuesday.

They are due to come into effect on November 2, the day the existing restrictions come to an end.
