Dumfries and Galloway coronavirus figures for Monday, November 9

A further 39 people in Dumfries and Galloway tested positive for coronavirus over the weekend.

The latest figures show there were 21 positive cases on Saturday, with seven on Sunday and a further 11 on Monday.

It takes the region’s total since the start of the pandemic to 997, with 125 of those in November.

There are currently eight people being treated in the region’s hospitals.

In Scotland, a further 912 new cases were announced today, taking the total to 64,355.

There are 1,226 people in hospital with 105 in intensive care.

The number of people to have died in Scotland since the pandemic began now stands at 3,040.

Tomorrow will see the first review of Scotland’s new tiered restriction level, although First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has warned it is “highly unlikely” these will be eased.
