Dumfries and Galloway coronavirus figures for Monday, November 2

Another 39 people in Dumfries and Galloway tested positive for coronavirus over the weekend.

There were 15 new cases announced on Saturday with 13 on Sunday and another 11 on Monday.

It takes the total in the region since the pandemic began to 896, with 461 of those cases coming in October.

There are currently seven people being treated in the region’s hospitals, the same as on Sunday.

Monday saw the introduction of Scotland’s new tiered level of restrictions.

Dumfries and Galloway is at level two, meaning pubs and restaurants have been able to go back to serving alcohol indoors providing it is accompanied by a main meal.

Monday also saw a further 951 positive coronavirus cases in Scotland, taking the country’s total to 66,012.

There are 1,225 people in hospital and 93 in intensive care.

No further deaths were announced, meaning the total remains at 2,849.
