Dumfries and Galloway coronavirus figures for Monday, November 16

A further 22 people in Dumfries and Galloway tested positive for coronavirus over the course of the weekend.

The latest figures show there were seven positive cases on both Saturday and Sunday and a further eight on Monday.

That takes the total for the region since the pandemic began to 1,068. Of those, 71 have been in the past week with 192 since the start of November.

Across Scotland, 717 people tested positive in the past 24 hours, which First Minister Nicola Sturgeon was lower than usual for a Monday.

It means there have now been 82,011 cases in Scotland since the pandemic began.

There are 1,227 patients in hospital with 98 in intensive care.

A further six people have died, taking the total to 3,086.

Ms Sturgeon is due to announce new restriction tiers tomorrow, with a number of areas of the country expected to go into level four - the highest available.
