Dumfries and Galloway Aviation Museum is getting set to welcome members of the armed forces tomorrow.
The Heathhall institution will host its airborne forces day where volunteers will help veterans celebrate and commemorate what the forces have achieved throughout the decades.
Members of the public are also invited to go along and learn about the various regiments and watch demonstrations of weapon cleaning, talks on kit and to learn about the airborne forces.
Charlie Ewing, one of the directors and volunteers at the museum, said: “Annually we have an Armed Forces Day where we invite a series of veterans from airborne regiments – for example the Paras, Royal Engineers or the 42 Commando – and welcome them to the museum for a small service.
“Its an opportunity for them to mingle with old friends and meet new friends and an opportunity for the public to show their appreciation too as well as find out more about them.
“On the day there will be talks on kit, munitions work, talks on gliders and that kind of thing. Some of our volunteers step up and do that.
The day runs from 10am until 5pm. A small service in the garden of remembrance at 11am as part of the event.
