Dumbledore actor Sir Michael Gambon's wife inherits £1.5m fortune while lover is snubbed

Sir Michael Gambon’s wife has been handed over his £1.5million estate in his will while his long-term lover with whom he had two teenage sons has been given nothing.

The late actor, best known for playing the character Albus Dumbledore in the Harry Potter movies from 2004 until 2011, died last September aged 82.

He famously shared his time between wife of 61 years Lady Anne Gambon and set designer Phillipa Hart ,who was 25 years his junior.

Five months after his death, Sir Michael's will was published on Tuesday and it shows that almost his entire fortune has passed to Lady Anne.

Lady Anne is listed as an executor along with her son, Fergus, 60. Provision was made however for the fortune to pass to Fergus if his mother had died before Sir Michael.

Meanwhile Ms Hart, who lived with Sir Michael in a West London townhouse, doesn't receive a penny in the will which was drawn up and signed back in 2016.

The couple shared two children - Tom, 17, and William, 15, who each inherited £10,000 and a silver heart Variety Club of Great Britain stage actor award, according to MailOnline.

Hart declined to comment on whether she was aware of being left out of Sir Michael’s will, telling the publication: “It's none of my business. I really don't want to talk about this.”

Fergus also declined to comment when approached by journalists, reportedly saying of his mother: “She won't want to speak to you.”

Sir Michael and Lady Anne got married in 1962. In 2000, the actor brought Hart to set while filming Gosford Park and introduced her to his co-stars as his girlfriend.

When their affair came to light in 2002, Sir Michael moved out of the home he shared with his wife; however, they later reconciled despite his ongoing affair.

Lady Gambon is a retired mathematician, who also creates her own pottery and has a passion for bookbinding.
