Dumbarton’s animal rehoming centre is inviting residents to hear all about the work that goes on behind doors and learn about the pets looking for their forever homes during a series of open days.
Scottish SPCA is celebrating its annual #RehomingWeek2019 (May 13 -19 ) by hosting open days at all of their centres and aiming to find homes for the longest residents.
Judy Button, manager of the Dumbarton centre, said: “Rehoming Week is the perfect time to try and find these pets loving new homes as we’re able to spread the word about all the wonderful animals in our care and share information about the rehoming process with the public.
“Our longest resident is Drogo the cornsnake.
“He has been with us for a staggering 890 days.

“Drogo arrived in our care after being found as a stray.
“In the past he has been a little temperamental, but he has gradually been improving and with an experienced owner and daily handling this should continue.
“Drogo likes nothing better than spending his day coiled up under his newspapers and occasionally peeks out to see what is going on.”
Judy encourages the public to come along to the centre open day, taking place on May 12 between 12pm and 4pm at the rescue and rehoming centre on Dumbarton Road, adding, “Previous open days have proven to be tremendous fun for humans and animals, and we expect this one to deliver fun for all the family.
“We have a treasure hunt, bouncy castle, raffle, police car and fire engine, snake talk and so much more.”
