Dumbarton Road fire: Emergency services rush to blaze in Glasgow's west end

Emergency services have rushed to an ongoing major fire in Glasgow's west end.

Videos from the scene taken earlier today show a building that looks to be engulfed in smoke on Dumbarton Road in the Scotstoun area of the city on Saturday October 16.

A number of firefighters still remain at the scene and a cordon has been erected around what looks like a block of tenement buildings.

It is thought that the fire is out although emergency services remain along with the fire investigation team.

There are no indications of any casualties at this time.

It is unclear how the fire has started.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 4.25 today, Saturday, 16 October, 2021, police were called to a report of a fire in a ground floor flat on Dumbarton Road near to Ardsloy Place, Scotstoun, Glasgow.

"Emergency services remain at the scene and enquiries are continuing."

Scottish Fire and Rescue Services have been approached for comment.
