Dumbarton residents offered potentially lifesaving health checks

Dumbarton residents are being offered the opportunity to get a potentially lifesaving health check next month.

Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland are inviting locals to pop into their Dumbarton hub at the Artizan Centre for advice and a free check of their blood pressure.

Kevin Miller, health defence co-ordinator at Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland, explained the plans.

He said: “Our hope is that the flexibility of popping into the shop might encourage people in Dumbarton to come in and have an informal chat and start to take control of their health.

“These drop-in sessions work really well and, in some cases, have helped people take urgent action when required. We want to make it easy for people to make healthier choices and to improve their lifestyle and quality of life.”

The sessions will run between 10.30am and 4.30pm on Wednesday, March 26, April 4 and April 11.
