Dumbarton home raided of gift vouchers and devices days before Christmas

Callous thieves raided a house in Dumbarton of gift vouchers and electronic devices just days before Christmas.

Police are appealing for information following the incident in Whiteford Place, Bellsmyre yesterday (Thursday).

The theft happened between 5.30pm and 6.50pm when a three-figure sum of cash, a quantity of gift vouchers and electronic equipment were all taken.

Community Policing Inspector Mo Boyle said: “Crimes such as this where someone has been in your home can have a very negative effect on those involved and we are keen to trace the person or persons responsible as quickly as possible. To have this happen so close to Christmas is particularly upsetting.

“We are carrying out enquiries to trace those responsible and I would urge anyone who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area or anyone who has been offered items for sale to get in touch.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police in Dumbarton on 101 quoting incident number 3317 of December 19.
