Dumbarton great-grandmother's delight celebrating 100th birthday with family

Jean Frew was delighted to be joined by family to celebrate her 100th birthday.

Relatives of the former nursery nurse at the Vale of Leven maternity unit were given special dispensation through Public Health officials to visit her at Crosslet House Care Home to mark the occasion.

The mum-of-four was treated to visits from all of her children, with the exception of one of her sons who is currently in hospital, and her seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, over two days earlier this month.

Daughter Grace Gallagher heaped praise on the staff at the Dumbarton facility who have helped make the celebrations possible during a difficult time as well as those who have sent cards, gifts and wishes onto her mum.

Grace said: “Crosslet staff have been amazing and my family would like to thanks them all along with friends and neighbours for their generosity. We were overwhelmed with over 100 cards and gifts.”
