Dumbarton golfers take on challenge for Cancer Research

A group of kind-hearted local golfers took on the challenge of 72 holes in one day at Dumbarton Golf Club last month in aid of Cancer Research.

Steven Walker made the decision to take part after a close friend was diagnosed with cancer. Along with pals Ross Alcorn, James Sheils and Ryan McMurdo, Steven has already raised more than £1500.

He said: “Cancer had already taken some of our close family so we thought it would be good to raise some money for cancer research.

“We’d like to say a big thank you to Dumbarton Golf Club for letting us do the challenge and for their hospitality.

“The course was in great condition and the day was rounded of with James getting a hole-in-one on the last round.”
