Why NC Carolina A&T Will Win
Just how beaten up is Duke after getting hammered by Alabama?
North Carolina A&T was able to get by Elon with a huge day from the run defense, a good performance from the offense with no turnovers, and with a whole lot of production in the backfield.
That’s what has to happen against the Blue Devils.
The Aggies have to be great on third downs again, get another massive performance from Jermaine McDaniel and the defensive front, and hope Duke is really, really hurt.
They have to hope Alabama can beat the Blue Devils twice.
Why Duke Will Win
So was there anything positive out of the 42-3 loss to Duke?
The run defense wasn’t bad. It gave up one long touchdown run, and for the most part, held the Alabama ground game in check. The secondary didn’t have a prayer against the Tide’s NFL receiving corps, but it managed to keep from getting pounded on and ground down.
North Carolina A&T was okay on the ground against Elon, but it wasn’t able to establish anything steady. It only averaged three yards per carry, and it’s not going anywhere against the Blue Devil D.

What’s Going To Happen
Don’t just assume North Carolina A&T is an automatic speed bump. This is a good team that managed to beat East Carolina last season and has just enough talent to keep this from being an ugly blowout.
Duke won’t have any issues – the offense will finally get moving after getting totally stuffed by Alabama – but the Aggies will come up with a few decent moments.
