Duke Street in Leith closed: Man rushed to hospital after falling from building

A man has been rushed to hospital after falling from a building in Leith.

Police have closed off part of Duke Street while they deal with the incident – which also resulted in a woman being hurt.

Officers and ambulance crews were called to the scene shortly after 5pm.

The road remains closed.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Police and ambulance attended Duke Street, Edinburgh, just after 5pm on Sunday, June 9, 2019 with regards to an adult male who appears to have fallen from a building there. 

"This male and another adult female injured during the incident have been taken to hospital for treatment. 

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances. Anyone with any relevant information should contact police via 101 quoting incident number 3107 of June 9 2019."
