Two children have been rushed to hospital after being injured in a car crash in the East End.

The crash took place on Duke Street, near Shettleston Road, at around 4.45pm today.

The condition of the children is unknown, but they have been taken to the Royal Hospital for Children.

Police remain on the scene, but the roads have reopened.

Earlier today, the Shettleston Road to the Biggar Street roundabout and Duke Street, between Todd Street and Shettleston Road were closed.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "We were made aware of a crash involving a car and two pedestrians, both children, around 4.45pm on Thursday, 19th November.

"Emergency services are currently at the scene and the road is currently closed. Both children will be taken to the Royal Hospital for Children for treatment."

Dennistoun Councillor Allan Casey said: "Shocked to hear of this accident on Duke Street, I really hope everyone involved is safe and well".
