A car park in Hamilton is to remain closed because of the current Covid-19 restrictions.
With the advice for people to work from home where possible, and the majority of shops and businesses in Hamilton closed, Duke Street multi-storey car park will not be open to the public.
Chair of South Lanarkshire Council’s Community and Enterprise Resources Committee, Councillor John Anderson, said: “Along with the current extremely cold weather we are experiencing and the Scottish Government guidance, Hamilton town centre is much quieter than usual at the moment.
“The need for car parking is therefore significantly reduced and we are satisfied there is capacity within the other town centre car parks, where charges remain suspended, to cope with demand.
“This decision will be regularly reviewed.”
