Duke Johnson skips the Browns voluntary minicamp

Even though GM John Dorsey said he expected the running back to be in attendance, veteran Duke Johnson did not show up for this week’s voluntary minicamp session in Berea.

Johnson has requested a trade following the Browns addition of Kareem Hunt. No. 29’s workload declined precipitously once Freddie Kitchens took over the offense last fall, and he’s third on the RB depth chart behind Nick Chubb and Hunt, though Hunt is suspended for the first eight games.

The workouts are voluntary. Johnson is not obligated to attend according to the CBA. He also skipped the voluntary workouts earlier this offseason.
