An alleged drunk driver crashed into a parked SUV and a fence Monday on the Near West Side.

About 8:15 p.m., an adult male driver of a 2004 Ford F-150 rear-ended a parked 2019 Chevrolet Equinox as it was traveling north in the 200 block of South Racine Avenue, Chicago police said. After striking the SUV the truck continued and crashed into a nearby fence.

The driver was taken to the University of Illinois at Chicago Hospital in fair condition, police said.

As officers investigated the crash, beer cans could be seen in the bed of the truck, near his feet and on the ground near the truck.
