ANAHEIM, Calif. _ Antoine Vermette and Corey Perry each scored a goal and had an assist while John Gibson made 21 saves as the Ducks completed an undefeated homestand with a 5-1 win over the Ottawa Senators on Sunday.
The Ducks (15-9-5), who temporarily took over sole possession of first place in the Pacific Division, also got goals from Joseph Cramarossa, Corey Perry and Nick Ritchie to win all three games at Honda Center before leaving for a six-game trip that ends right before Christmas.
It was the power play that got the Ducks off and running in the first period. Ottawa's Ryan Dzingel answered Cramarossa's score to open the game but Perry and Vermette both delivered on the Ducks' first two chances with the man advantage for a 3-1 lead.
Vermette, who has goals in consecutive games, then turned playmaker in the second as he and linemates Ritchie and Ondrej Kase teamed on a rush up ice, with Ritchie putting away Vermette's backhand pass for his seventh goal.
Sami Vatanen got the Ducks' third power-play goal when he followed up on a rebound and potted his first goal since Oct. 18. Ryan Kesler had an assist to extend his point scoring streak to five games.
After allowing five goals in a shootout on Wednesday against Carolina, Gibson responded with a sharp effort after Jonathan Bernier had the net in Friday's win over San Jose.
Ottawa went with Mike Condon for another start on back-to-back days but Condon allowed three goals on 13 shots in the first as Senators coach Guy Boucher summoned backup Andrew Hammond to start the second.
