Pearls can also be a lot more affordable depending on the style of jewellery you're looking at and white or black versions will go with anything. On Day 3 of Ascot the Duchess of Edinburgh wore her cross with a deep navy frock by her go-to British clothing brand, Suzannah London.
The design featured an organza layer over a strappy underdress and this is the closest we'll get to seeing the royals in sheer outfits. Tiny embroidered bows are a gorgeous touch and it has a round neckline and softly sculpted sleeves.
It seems the Duchess of Edinburgh is loving a moodier colour palette than she usually does at Ascot, as the day before Sophie stood out in a black dress. Neither colour screams summer but both ensembles were very chic and made a refreshing change from pastels.
A navy hat and white kitten heels finished off Sophie's style whilst Edward wore a morning suit with a pale pink tie. Coincidentally this is one of his wife's favourite shades of all time to wear so perhaps this was his subtle nod to her too.
