Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton wears designer coat for Cammell Laird visit

Prince William and Kate Middleton are visiting Cammell Laird today, to unveil the new Polar Research Ship.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are visiting Birkenhead to officially name the ship the RRS Sir David Attenborough.

Crowds of people greeted the Prince and Princess at the shipyard and Kate wore her Alexander McQueen cornflower blue Utility coat for the unveiling- an outfit she has worn on several occasions before.

Kate has previously worn the coat in 2014 and 2016 at a variety of official engagements.

The coat is not currently in stock but similar styles from Alexander McQueen cost around £2,500.

Alexander McQueen is a favourite of the Princess - with the fashion house also designing her wedding dress.

Today Kate wore her brunette hair down and straight in a side parting and wore black heels to complete her look.

The mum-of-three also carried a new black Asprey Clutch bag - the brand's 1781 Pochette style.

While Prince William wore a navy blue suit with a blue tie.

The royal couple will have a 45 minute tour of the ship, before waving to the public.

They will then return to the shipyard for speeches and the official naming ceremony.
