Despite the Philadelphia Eagles being loaded at the running back position, position coach Duce Staley is hopeful that an old face will return. With the Eagles having his possible replacement on the roster, Staley told media members that he’s hopeful for Sproles return.
The now 36-year-old Sproles still has some juice left in the tank after racking up 24 carries for 110 yards and 11 catches for 138 yards in the five games he played in down the stretch. There may not be a role for Sproles in Philadelphia, especially if the younger Boston Scott can emerge as a suitable replacement.
