DUCATI has joined forces with Lamborghini to create a motorbike inspired by the Sian FKP 37 hypercar.
And the Diavel 1260 Lamborghini will be a pretty exclusive beast, with production limited to just 630 units.
That number echoes the prestige of the Sian FKP 37 as only 63 models were made in a nod to the year Italian marque Lamborghini was founded – 1963.
The bike features forged wheels that recall those of the car, a new carbon bodywork and a special livery with the colours of the Sian.
So the two-wheeler’s bodywork is Gea Green, while the frame, seat tail and forged rims are embellished with Electrum Gold. There is also a touch of Ducati Red for the Brembo brake calipers.
The exhaust has the familiar Lamborghini hexagonal shape, while the seat detailing pays homage to the car brand’s Y design motif.
Carbon fibre is used for the headlight frame, mudguards, air intakes, spoiler and radiator, silencer, central tank, seat and dashboard covers.
Unveiled last year, the Sian is the most potent Lambo ever – with a hybrid powertrain producing a whopping 819hp. Riders of this special Diavel will enjoy a suitably quick 162hp 1262cc engine.
Pricing has yet to be announced but it is likely to be some way north of the standard Diavel’s £16,795 starting point. Owners will also be able to buy an exclusive helmet covered in special graphics co-ordinated with the bike.
Ducati styling chief Andrea Ferraresi said: “In creating a Diavel inspired by the Sian, we are celebrating the values we share with Lamborghini: we are Italian, we are sporty and design is a distinctive element for our creations.
“The result is a bike with a great stage presence, a true collector’s item from a style point of view and a 100 per cent Diavel in riding.”
