Dubravka's return, Saint-Maximin ruled out: Pick your Newcastle XI to face Arsenal

Newcastle United suffered a disappointing defeat to Leicester City in their opening match of 2021, and things don't get any easier for the Magpies.

Steve Bruce's face a tough assignment in the capital, having been drawn away at Arsenal in the FA Cup third round on Saturday night.

It marks the beginning of an important week for the Magpies, with a midweek visit to winless Sheffield United before making a return to the Emirates Stadium for their league encounter with the Gunners.

Following a busy festive period and a series of injuries and Covid-19 related absences, Bruce could be tempted to make changes to his starting eleven.

However, Mikel Arteta's side have seemingly turned the corner following a poor start to the season, recording three straight wins over Christmas and New Year.

Bruce has confirmed Martin Dubravka will make his first appearance of the season following an ankle injury, and the head coach told reporters on Friday "there are some players who need to play". Academy prospect Elliot Anderson is among those tipped to feature at some stage.

Allan Saint-Maximin is still weeks away from making a return, while Jamal Lewis and Ryan Fraser have been ruled out through injury.

Who would you like to see starting for United at Arsenal? Would you rest Callum Wilson and hand a chance to Andy Carroll or Dwight Gayle?

Should Matty Longstaff continue in midfield following his recent impressive displays, or is there a chance for the likes of Jeff Hendrick and Jonjo Shelvey to stake their claims?

Use our interactive team selector tool above to pick your Newcastle side from the possible squad for Saturday's clash.
