Dublin Bus newest announcement has people split down the middle

The new Transport For Ireland bus livery is a very different look than we're used to.

The new yellow and green design has started to be spotted more frequently on Dublin's streets. So far during 2021, approximately 93 coaches, 280 new hybrid buses and 87 existing buses have adopted the new livery.

The Bus Connects Dublin programme sets out for the standardisation of the interior and exterior design of all different bus operators in the capital.

More buses will gradually adopt this new look over the coming months and years, so the city's time with Dublin Bus' iconic blue and yellow livery is limited.

There has been much discussion and debate of this new design on social media. The Dublin Commuter Coalition conducted a poll last month asking their followers which bus design they preferred, and they received 340 responses.

Most people are happy with the new design.

The new TFI livery came out on top, with 65% of respondents saying they preferred the yellow and green design. The Dublin Bus livery received 26.5% of votes and the first attempt of the TFI livery was least favourable coming in at 8.5%.

What do you think? Will the new TFI bus design improve the look of transport in the city or should the old Dublin Bus livery stick around? Let us know in the comments.
