Dublin Zoo is slashing ticket prices over the next two weekends to celebrate World Animal Day.

Animal lovers can gain entry to the zoo for half price this Saturday and Sunday.

Half price tickets will have to be bought in person at the Dublin Zoo Ticket Office as they aren't available online. The offer is on adult, child and family passes only.

Family-friendly activities, such as arts and crafts, face painting and keeper talks, will be held between 12-4pm this weekend.

The day of action aims to raise awareness of animals with a focus on endangered species, protecting natural habitats and supporting animal welfare.
