The adorable baby gorilla born in Dublin Zoo has been named Asali.
The female infant received her name after a nationwide competition which had over 1,000 entries.
The name, which means honey in Swahili, was chosen by Ina Walsh - who can now avail of one year's free electricity from SSE Airtricity.
Asali, who was born on April 1, is said to be looked after by her parents and is integrating well with the rest of the gorilla troop.
Team Leader Helen Clarke Bennett said: "Asali has had quite the few weeks! She is bright, alert and extremely adventurous.
"She has come on leaps and bounds over the past few weeks and has even developed a special bond with Kambiri another young female in troop.
"The two spend their days playing together and Asali is learning many important life skills from this friendship.
"We are looking forward to watching Asali’s development and can’t wait to watch her grow into adulthood."
SSE Airtricity spokeswoman Aine Plunkett added: "We’re delighted with the response we received for the competition and can’t think of a more fitting and beautiful name as Asali.
"We look forward to offering our customers more unique experiences with Dublin Zoo over the next year and in doing so, helping to deepen the understanding of the need for making greener choices in our daily lives."
