Dublin Zoo announces it is reopening its doors to the public for first time in almost three months

Dublin Zoo is to open its doors to the public tomorrow fro the first time in almost three months.

The coronavirus crisis forced the zoo to shut its doors in mid-March.

But the Phoenix Park attraction will welcome the public in to enjoy its Outdoor Safari Trail.

Announcing the news this afternoon, zoo officials said: "We are delighted to announce that Dublin Zoo will reopen its doors on June 2nd, 2020.

"Following a new one-way route, Dublin Zoo's Outdoor Safari Trail allows you to see, hear and learn about the animals.

"The route reinforces social distancing guidelines and ensures that visitors will have the peace of mind to safely visit the Zoo."

Tickets for the Safari Trail must be prebooked online and the zoo will initially trial two sessions per day with a maximum of 500 people per session.
