Dublin weekend weather: TWO warnings issued for Ireland as Met Eireann warn of big summer change

Met Eireann has warned that Irish weather will remain "changeable and unsettled" for the weekend with "temperatures set to be below normal" for most days.

Saturday morning will be mostly cloudy, with scattered outbreaks of showery rain. It will brighten up gradually during the afternoon, but some scattered, possibly heavy showers may occur.

Temperatures of 18C will drop to a cool 9C overnight with dry spells and scattered showers possible.

Sunday will be a cool and very blustery day, with a mix of bright or sunny spells with scattered showers.

Max temperatures of 17C will make way for a very windy Sunday night.

Some heavy and longer spells of rain with strong gusty winds forecast and lows of 9C.

Around the country, there is currently a status yellow rainfall warning in place for Donegal, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo until early Monday morning with a risk of flash flooding possible.

There is also a yellow rain warning in place for Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Tyrone, Derry with heavy rain leading the way until 10pm tonight.

Here's how the forecast for next week is looking according to Met Eireann:

Monday : "Some bright or sunny spells, but scattered showers also, a few of them heavy, mainly in Ulster. Maximum temperatures 13 to 18 Celsius, with highest values in eastern and southern coastal areas. Windy at first, with fresh to strong westerly winds, gradually decreasing as the day progresses. Winds will be light overnight, with rain and drizzle developing in southern and southwestern coastal areas, but mainly dry elsewhere, with just a few scattered showers. Misty, with fog patches. Min. 7 to 10 Celsius."

Tuesday : "Patchy rain and drizzle in southern coastal areas at first. Otherwise a good deal of dry weather, with bright spells, though a good deal of cloud is likely, with a few scattered showers. Max. 15 to 19 Celsius, in light westerly or variable breezes. Further patchy rain and drizzle overnight over much of Munster, but mainly dry elsewhere. Mist and fog patches will develop in calm conditions. Min. 7 to 12 Celsius."



Wednesday : "Some bright, dry intervals, but scattered showers also. Max. 15 to 19 Celsius, in light variable breezes."

Thursday : "Little change, with a mix of bright spells and scattered showers, though some areas will remain dry. Max. 14 to 18 Celsius, in moderate westerly breezes."



Further outlook : "Early indications are for changeable and unsettled weather, with below normal temperatures."
