Dublin weather warning issued by Met Eireann for 13 hours as 'accumulations' of snow and ice expected

There's another weather warning in place for Dublin as Met Eireann issued an update this morning.

A yellow warning has been put in place for snow and ice in the capital, as well as Kildare, Wexford, Wicklow, Westmeath, Meath, Cavan, Monaghan and Waterford.

It's in place from 8am this morning and will continue through to 9pm tonight, so be prepared.

It warns: "Scattered hail and snow showers today with some accumulations in places and icy stretches on untreated surfaces."

And a weather advisory remains in place for all of Ireland as temperatures remain very chilly across the country.

It says: "Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday will be very cold with temperatures in low single figures by day and with sharp or severe frosts and icy patches at night. Showers of sleet or snow at times in eastern counties from Sunday evening onwards. Hazardous conditions on roads and paths."

Here's the forecast for Dublin today: "Frost and ice will be slow to clear this morning. Today will be very cold with sunny spells and scattered wintry showers of sleet or snow. Highest temperatures this afternoon of just 2 or 3 degrees in a moderate easterly breeze.

"Tonight will be very cold with a widespread frost and icy stretches. It will be mostly dry with clear spells, though there will be showers of sleet or snow at times. It will become breezy as fresh to strong and gusty southeasterly winds develop. Lowest temperatures of -1 or 0 degrees."
