Dublin weather: Warning in place for neighbouring Wicklow as 'heavy and intense' rain to fall

As the weather in Dublin is set to take a turn, bringing heavy rain and wintry conditions, a warning has been put in place for a neighbouring county.

Wicklow is one of seven counties, including Wexford, Galway, Mayo, Cork, Kerry and Waterford that has a yellow warning in place from 9pm Tuesday through to 12 midday on Wednesday

And while the warning does not extend to the capital, there's still heavy rain and a risk of spot flooding expected in Dublin with a chance of a further warning down the line.

At the moment, the forecast for Dublin says that the worst of the warning weather will begin to travel in on Tuesday night and will continue into early Wednesday before clearing up.

Met Eireann's warning says: "Heavy and at times intense rainfall with totals of 25 to 40mm expected. This may result in localized flooding. The rain will clear western counties by early Wednesday morning."

However conditions in Dublin will take a turn again later Wednesday and into Thursday when thunder and hail are expected to join the rainfall.
