Dublin weather: Urgent 24-hour warning issued in Ireland but four days of 20C+ to follow say Met Eireann

Met Eireann has issued an urgent 24-hour weather warning for one county in Ireland but the outlook for the capital looks well in the long-range forecast.

Four days of 20C+ temperatures are being forecast for Dublin with Sunday onwards seeing summer-like weather again.

Today will be dry with sunny spells and highest temperatures of 18C dipping to only 15C overnight remaining dry with some clear intervals.

Elsewhere, the forecaster has put a status yellow warning in place from noon on Saturday until the same time on Sunday for Donegal.

Weather chiefs say there is still some uncertainty regarding the warning and it will be updated again before noon on Saturday.

The forecaster said: "From noon on Saturday to noon on Sunday, 25 to 35 mm of rain possible. Some uncertainty. This warning will be updated before noon on Saturday."

SUNDAY: "There will be some cloud around at first tomorrow morning, but it will become mostly sunny during the afternoon and evening. It will feel warm in that sunshine too, with afternoon temperatures reaching 21 or 22 degrees. Fresh southwesterly winds will ease to moderate in the afternoon."

MONDAY: "Cloudy and humid with outbreaks of rain, mainly over the western half of the country. Some heavy downpours will be possible. Highest temperatures of 18 to 21 degrees with light to moderate southeasterly winds."

TUESDAY: "It will be mostly cloudy with scattered showers and limited bright or sunny periods. Showers will be most frequent in western areas. Staying quite warm in a light southerly breeze, with top temperatures of 18 to 22 degrees."

WEDNESDAY: "There will be a mix of cloud and sunny spells with showers. Showers are expected to mainly affect southern and eastern areas. Highest temperatures ranging between 15 to 17 degrees in the northeast and 18 to 20 degrees in the southwest."
