Dublin weather: Two days of 22C say Met Eireann but other online pages warn storm will hit Ireland

Weather charts show a low-pressure system heading near Ireland next weekend but forecasters say it's too early to say if it will bring a storm.

And Met Eireann is predicting otherwise for the moment, forecasting two days of 22C in the capital at the start of this week with no mention of an impending storm hitting the country.

Monday and Tuesday will see the temperature highs with today starting off generally dull and breezy to begin with.

There will be heavy burst leading to spot flooding but when it dries up, it will turn warm and sunny with temperatures of 22C.

It will be very mild and humid overnight with misty hill and coastal fog as temps drop to a generous 13C.

Some online weather pages have forecast the low-pressure system to come very close to the country next Saturday with charts showing a potential storm.

Alan O'Reilly of Carlow Weather said it's too unpredictable and far out at the moment to say if a storm is on the horizon.

The weather man said: "The uncertainty beyond Friday continues. Look at the differences on the GFS and ECMWF here.

"The ECMWF has a storm while GFS has calm and settled. Stay tuned and expect a lot of chopping and changing on automated app forecasts etc!"

Here's how the next few days are looking:

TUESDAY : "Overall dry, outside of patchy drizzle, and warm where sunshine develops. Humid, again with hill and coastal fog. Highest temperatures ranging 18 to 23 degrees Celsius, best values in the east. Moderate southwest breezes will be fresher near coasts."

WEDNESDAY : "Dry with a mix of cloud and some sunny spells - just isolated showers. Fresher in moderate, occasionally fresh northwest winds. Highest temperatures of 15 to 18 degrees Celsius, mildest in the southeast. Chilly overnight with lowest temperatures 5 to 9 degrees Celsius and light westerly breezes."

THURSDAY : "Most areas staying dry once again with a mix of cloud and sunny spells. Cooler though with highest temperatures of 13 to 16 degrees Celsius, in light southwest breezes."

FRIDAY : 'Wet across Ulster and Connacht to begin, with rainfall extending to other areas during the day, though turning scattered. Highest temperatures 15 to 18 degrees Celsius, mildest and driest in the southeast."

THIS WEEKEND : "Current indications suggest the weekend will bring a lot of dry weather with mild spells of sunshine and southerly breezes."
