Dublin weather today: With a Met Eireann advisory in place what does the weather look like for the capital?

A weather advisory is in place for the whole of Ireland as the country will be lashed with strong winds today.

A Met Eireann spokesperson warned: “Unseasonably windy weather is expected to affect the country during the period.

“Given the time of year, there is potential for wind-related impacts such as debris from trees and movement of unsecured outdoor items.”

The warning is in place until 6 pm this evening.

Although we will see a few sunny spells today will be mostly windy and showery with temperatures of 14C to 16C.

Tonight will be blustery with patchy outbreaks of rain and drizzle. But it will get dryer later with lowest temperatures of 7C to 10C.

Tomorrow will be a dry day with temperatures ranging between 16C and 20C.

There is no further forecast for Dublin but the national outlook says that it will be generally warm and dry next week but west and northwest parts of the country can expect patchy rain and drizzle.

The warm weather will continue as mercury is set to jump to as high as 22C next week.

A Met Eireann forecaster said: Tomorrow night: Overall dry under broken cloud with light southerly breezes.

“Later in the night low cloud and drizzle will arrive into parts of the west and northwest coast. Lowest temperatures 6C to 10C.”

Monday

“Dry in most areas to begin with sunny spells. However, low cloud, rain and drizzle will move into Atlantic counties by midday, slowly extending eastwards whilst turning patchy. Humid with highest temperatures of 14C to 20C, warmest across the midlands and the north of Leinster.

“Southwest winds will be moderate, occasionally fresh in strength. Mild and humid overnight with further patchy rain and drizzle, mainly affecting the Atlantic. Mist and fog in parts too. Lowest temperatures of 9C to 12C, in just light westerly breezes.”

Tuesday

“Most areas will be dry with light to moderate westerly breezes. Cloudy and misty at first with the odd spot of drizzle.

“However, it will brighten up with mild or warm spells of sunshine. Highest temperatures will range 14C to 20C, best values away from Atlantic coasts.”

Wednesday

“Humid with warm spells of sunshine and just light variable breezes.

"Highest temperatures of 15C to 21C or 22C, warmest away from coasts where sea breezes will develop.”
