Dublin weather today: Two WARNINGS still in place as Met Eireann predicts 23C for Ireland but what is the forecast for the weekend?

Met Eireann predicts 23C for Dublin and beyond today but says that it will be cloudy on Friday with just a few sunny spells.

Some showers are set to develop in the afternoon but temperatures will not dip past 19C.

If you've had trouble sleeping the last few nights, tonight will be a blessing as Met Eireann say that it will be a much fresher night compared to recent nights with temperatures going as low as 9C.

They added: "It will be largely dry and winds will become slack overnight."

And the outlook for the weekend looks pretty good too.

Saturday will be mainly dry as well with sunny spells and just the odd shower. Highest temperatures will reach 18 to 22 degrees and winds will be light.

Saturday night will be dry apart from a few isolated showers with minimum temperatures between 10-13C.

Met Eireann added: "Sunday will see sunny spells and isolated showers. Highest temperatures of 17 to 21 degrees, coolest in the northwest, in light northwest or variable breezes.

There will be isolated showers overnight but otherwise it will be dry with minimum temperatures of 10 to 14 degrees.

As well as this, there is a marine and environmental warning still in place for the whole of the country.

The status yellow, small craft warning means that "Southeast winds, veering southwest this morning will occasionally reach force 6 today on all Irish coasts."

There is also a status yellow blight warning in place and Met Eireann states: "Weather conditions conducive to the spread of potato blight will develop across Ireland all this week."
