Dublin will be battered by thundery rain and spot flooding as a Status Yellow weather alert is in place for some counties this morning.
The rainfall warning was issued for Carlow, Kilkenny, Laois, Wexford, Wicklow, Cork, Tipperary, and Waterford and is valid until 10 am today.
The capital will see a wet start to the day but things are set to change later.
It will be drier and brighter with sunny spells in the afternoon. The evening will see more sunshine.
Temperatures will be between 17C to 19C.
Tomorrow will be dry at first with sunny spells, but the afternoon will bring cloud and scattered showers.
It will be cooler than average for this time of the year with temperatures hitting the lows of 15C.
The national outlook says we can expect more changable and unsettled weather this week.
Temperatures will be on the cool side of average at the start of the week but it will become warm and humid later.
TUESDAY NIGHT
A Met Eireann forecaster said: "Cool, calm and mostly clear. Lowest temperatures of 6C to 9C."
WEDNESDAY
"Starting out mostly dry with hazy sunshine. However, it will become cloudy across the southwest and west with outbreaks of rain and drizzle moving in off the Atlantic, very gradually spreading elsewhere later.
"Relatively cool with highest temperatures of 14C to 17C, in light to moderate southerly breezes.
"Mild, humid and misty on Wednesday night with further outbreaks of rain and drizzle; possibly some very heavy falls later. Lowest temperatures of 11C to 14C, in freshening southerly winds.
THURSDAY
"Warm, humid and rather breezy, with the last of any overnight rain clearing northwards. Dry for the day across most areas with warm spells of sunshine.
"Highest temperatures of 19C to 23C, in moderate to fresh southerly breezes. Largely dry and humid on Thursday night. Lowest temperatures of 13C to 15C, in moderate southeast winds, fresh along Atlantic coasts."
FRIDAY
"Another warm and humid day with hazy sunny spells. Overall dry, though some showery bursts of rain will occur too. Highs of 19C to 24C, in moderate southwest breezes."
