Dublin weather today: The capital set to shiver as temperatures to drop to as low as 1C

Things are starting to look up in the capital after the miserable and rainy chaos of yesterday.

Although the day will start off cloudy, Met Eireann has predicted sunny and bright spells for Dublin.

It’ll be a dry day with temperatures of 9C to 11C.

Temperatures will nosedive to as low as 1C tonight but it’ll be dry with clear spells.

Tomorrow will start off dry with sunny spells in the morning but the national forecaster has predicted a spell of rain in the afternoon. Temperatures will range between 7C and 9C.

Wednesday night will be cloudy with scattered outbreaks of rain.

The national outlook for the rest of the week is “unsettled and wet at times”.

A Met Eireann forecaster said: “Thursday: A cold and mostly cloudy day with occasional spells of rain. The rain will be quite persistent and heavy in many areas.

“Winds mainly from the north or northeast will be strong at times too. Temperatures typically in low single figures.

“After a chilly night with ground frost widely, Friday will be a mainly dry day with light winds.

“Most areas will get sunny spells, but cloud will increase from the west and rain will reach western counties during the evening as southerly winds freshen.”
