Dublin weather today: Met Eireann warns of more wet and windy conditions with thunder on its way to Ireland

The skies are set to brighten in Dublin this morning, but it won't be sticking around for too long.

We can expect another warm day in the capital with temperatures reaching 19C at their highest.

The sunny spells are set to turn into clouds and wet and breezy conditions later today.

That will continue through to tonight, but will lighten to showers and clearer spells.

Met Eireann says: "Mist and fog will clear Wednesday morning. A mostly dry start to the day with some bright or sunny spells and isolated showers.

"However, cloud will thicken later and southerly winds will freshen as wet and breezy weather develops. Top temperatures of 17 to 19 degrees.

"Wet for a time tonight, however rain will turn more showery, with longer clear spells. Lows of 10 to 12 degrees, in moderate to fresh southwest breezes."

Heading into Thursday, it's going to be a little bit colder and there will be plenty of rain.

There's even a risk of thunder in the capital, so be prepared.

Met Eireann continued: "Some sunny spells on Thursday but overall feeling fresher with scattered heavy showers throughout the day.

"There will be the risk of thunder, especially later in the evening or early in the night, at which point longer spells of rain.

"Afternoon highs will range 15 to 17 degrees, in a fresh and gusty southwest breeze."
