Dublin weather today: Met Eireann forecasts more misery as wet and windy weather to remain

Don't put away those brollies just yet as Met Eireann has forecasted more miserable conditions for Ireland.

The wet and windy weather is showing no sign of stopping as unsettled conditions continue to grip Dublin. Those with weekend plans will be disappointed to know that more rain and wind is expected over Saturday and Sunday.

Today will start off with a mix of cloud and sunny spells with the odd shower. It will turn cloudier during the day with more showers possible later in the afternoon and evening. Daytime temperatures will be around 19 to 20 degrees.

Tonight will see occasional showers continuing into the night with mostly light southerly winds. It'll be a cloudy night with mist forming in places and the lowest temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees.

Tomorrow, heavy rain will develop in the morning with fresh to strong easterly winds. The rain will clear towards the evening with just the chance of a few showers. The highest temperatures will be around 18 or 19 degrees.

There is no further forecast for Dublin but here's what the national outlook says:

Friday night

A Met Eireann forecaster said: "Further outbreaks of rain with some dry spells, likely driest and clearest in the east. Remaining breezy with moderate to fresh winds, strong at times in coastal areas. Lowest temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees.

Saturday

"Cloudy with widespread showers or longer spells of rain, heavy in places. Windy in most areas with fresh to strong northwest winds, very windy along Atlantic coasts. Highest temperatures of 15 to 19 degrees.

Saturday night

"Blustery at first with outbreaks of rain. Some clear spells will develop overnight with winds gradually easing. Lowest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees.

Sunday

"A mix of cloud and sunshine with showers, becoming widespread and heavier in the afternoon. Highest temperatures of 15 to 19 degrees with moderate westerly winds."
