Dublin weather today: After the chaos of Storm Lorenzo, what is in store for the capital?

Storm Lorenzo wreaked havoc across the country, bringing with it heavy rain, powerful gusts, and a number of weather warnings.

While Dublin was lashed with torrential rain yesterday, things are set to look up with Met Eireann predicting sunny, bright spells and mild temperatures this weekend.

Today will start off bright and dry, but rain will develop by early afternoon with some of it expected to turn persistent and heavy.

Temperatures will range between 15C to 17C.

Tonight will see a good deal of dry weather with patches of mist forming in some places.

It’ll be slightly chilly with the lows of 6C to 9C.

Speaking about tomorrow a Met Eireann forecaster said: “Mostly dry and bright with some good sunny spells at times. Top temperatures 14C to 16C.

“Moderate northwest winds will become southerly later in the day.
