Dublin weather: Temperatures to soar above 20C as Indian summer continues but big change on the way

The Indian summer is set to continue across Dublin today with temperatures once again soaring above 20C.

But make the most of it while you can because there's a big change on the way as the weekend draws in.

Cloudy periods will give way to hazy sunshine this afternoon as the mercury peaks at 22C.

Tonight will be mild and humid with mist and fog patches forming by Tuesday morning.

It will be cloudy on Tuesday morning before the sun comes out again and the city will be bathed in unseasonably warm temperatures of 22 to 23C.

Met Eireann say we will continue to enjoy more fine weather on Wednesday with highs of 22C but things will begin to change on Thursday as temperatures drop to as low as 16C with showers on the way.

The national forecast for the weekend is a very mixed bag with a big drop in temperatures and a strong chance of showers on Friday.

The weekend forecast reads: "Largely dry and settled conditions indicated with high pressure dominating the weather pattern, though there is a possibility of some rain or showers in the south. Temperatures generally close to average for September."
