Dublin weather: Temperatures to hit the 20s - but it's not all good news for Ireland according to Met Eireann forecast

Dublin is set for big temperature boost as last week's miserable conditions look to be over.

We're in for a heat as high as 20 degrees today although Met Eireann have warned the weather could turn a little bit towards the evening.

The forecaster says there's a "chance" of light showers - but we can expect a mainly dry and warm day.

They said: "Mostly dry today with variable cloud and sunshine, just the chance of a passing light shower towards evening. Highs of 17 to 20 degrees. Light winds, with sea breezes developing near the coast this afternoon.

"Tonight will be staying mostly dry tonight with variable cloud and clear intervals. Lows of 6 to 8 degrees Celsius in mainly light westerly breezes."

Unfortunately we're not out of the woods just yet though - as tomorrow will see some scattered showers hit.

They said: "Dry and bright to begin tomorrow, Wednesday, with sunny spells, but scattered showers will break out during the afternoon, with perhaps the odd heavy one in the mix. "Top temperatures of 17 to 19 in mainly light westerly breezes."

So how is the weekend looking?

Yes it's only Tuesday - but as we've hit the second half of June surely we're in for some sunny weekends? Correct.

"The bulk of the country" is set to be dry this Saturday with temperatures remaining as high as 20 degrees.

But will there be any rain? Sadly there's always a possibility.

Sunday will see some outbreaks in the south but it's still a bit early to predict if they'll hit Dublin or not.

Met Eireann said: "Current indications suggest the bulk of the country will be dry on Saturday with increasing cloud amounts and highs of 16 to 20 degrees with light to moderate southeast winds, which will freshen in the southwest later.

"Then possibly becoming rather damp or wet by Sunday with outbreaks of rain feeding up from the south in a humid southeasterly airflow.

"Highs of 16 to 19 degrees in moderate southeast breezes."
