Met Eireann has said that Friday night, Saturday and Sunday will see rain, rain and more rain before temperatures spike to close to 20C at the start of next week.
It will be a bit cloudier in general this weekend with some rain and drizzle, especially on Sunday.
But this will clear on Monday with temperatures rising to 19C as the day brightens up throughout.
Looking to today, it will be sunny to begin with but the afternoon and evening will have more of a mix of cloud and sunny spells.
After a chilly start, it will hit 15C before dropping down to 4C tonight but remaining calm and cool.
Here's how the next few days are looking:
Friday : "It will be cloudier day overall, although a few bright or sunny spells will still occur. There is a chance of an odd shower during the afternoon. Top temperatures of 14 or 15 degrees in light northwest breezes.
Saturday : "Cloud will start to push in off the Atlantic from early morning, with the best any bright or sunny spells in the east and south early on. Mostly cloudy by the afternoon, with patchy light rain and drizzle developing in the west and north. Highs of 12 to 17 degrees in light west to southwest breezes. Mostly cloudy conditions persisting on Saturday night, with just scattered patches of light rain and drizzle continuing to affect western and northern areas, and just the odd light shower elsewhere. Lows of 6 to 9 degrees in a light to moderate southwest breeze, increasing fresh and gusty near west and northwest coasts."
"Sunday is shaping up to be a mostly cloudy and breezy day across the west and north, with outbreaks of rain and drizzle. Further south and east; largely for much of the day with a mix of cloud and bright or sunny intervals, but patchy rain and drizzle spreading here too in the evening. Any accumulations will be rather minimal in the east and south, however. Highs of 13 to 18 degrees in mostly moderate, occasionally gusty, southwest breezes, fresh to strong near west and northwest coasts. Cloudy and misty on Sunday night, with occasional drizzle. Lows of 9 or 10 degrees. Southwest winds falling light overnight."
Monday : "Probably quite cloudy and misty to begin with drizzle patches. Brightening up as the day goes on. Maximum temperatures 14 to 19 degrees in light to moderate southwest to south breezes."
Further Outlook : "Warmer conditions are signalled through midweek in a mainly southerly airflow. Exact details remain uncertain at this stage, however, with Ireland likely to be somewhere in the transitional zone between higher pressures to the east and south and lower pressures to the west and northwest. In this scenario, the greatest chance of rain will be in western parts of the country with drier conditions persisting further east."
