Dublin Weather: Radical change expected overnight as Met Eireann forecast end to Ireland's mini heatwave

The thundery downpours could hit Dublin earlier than expected as Met Eireann have flashed the lights on Ireland's heat wave.

It's last orders at the bar this morning as we're set for 21 degree heats and clear sunny spells - but experts say we'll start to see signs of a turn as there'll be the odd scattered shower in between.

Tonight will see things get hot and misty before heavy rain and thunder is expected on Wednesday.

Met Eireann said: "Today will be another warm day with sunny spells and scattered showers. Cloudy dull periods too. Maximum temperatures of 18 to 21 degrees, but only 16 degrees at the coast due to the onshore breeze.

"Tonight will be mild, humid and misty with showery outbreaks of rain moving up over the region the southeast. Minimum of 8 to 10 degrees in mainly light east to southeast breezes.

"Tomorrow will bring showers or longer spells of rain with the risk of some heavy or thundery downpours. Mostly moderate southeast or southerly breezes. Turning cooler with afternoon temperatures of 16 to 18 degrees."

Unfortunately, Thursday on won't be much different.

The forecaster has yet to make a Dublin prediction but Ireland in general will see longer spells of rain, and nighttime temperatures going back down as low as 0.
